Hi there! I’m Blake, one of the counselors here at New Directions Wellness Center. I received my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida in 2019. I have spent much of my adult life working with kids, teens, and young adults in various roles until I decided to become a counselor. I have worked in community mental health for the past year before joining the New Directions Wellness Center team.
I believe therapy can be a powerful and beautiful part of our lives. We all experience hard things and sometimes we need some extra help. Hurt, loss, sadness, worry, and heartache are a part of living. As are joy, celebration, hope, and peace. Sometimes we get stuck in the lows and that’s okay, we can work together to help you get unstuck and move forward with acceptance, self-love, and hope.
I find it a privilege and honor to take part in my client’s journey and growth. I get to witness so much strength and resilience. I am so grateful to get to do this work. I work to create a non-shaming, judgment-free environment. I find joy and fulfillment in helping my clients through their past and present challenges and moving towards the life they see for themselves.
